Aravalli mountains are calling again this winter. Pack your bags for the annual Mount Abu winter festival which are schedule to be held from December 29 to 31.
Visitors can look forward to gilli danda with 20X20 cricket, kite flying with hot air balloon, and sufi kathak with break dance, poetry reading with visual art.
The procession, participated by the colourfully dressed citizens, begins from the RTDC Hotel Shikhar and ends at the Nakki Lake Chowk. The splendor of the festival is enhanced with the enthralling performances of the folk artistes of Rajasthan, Gujarat, Punjab and Haryana. One can enjoy the glittering view of fireworks displayed on all three day of the festival. The festival offers the visitors an insight into the diversity and sumptuousness of Rajasthans tradition, art and culture.
Three main ingredients of the Festival that have given it a world platform today are the hospitality of the people, their colorful culture and exotic location. The processions ultimately end at the Nakki Lake chowk. Followed by the magnanimous procession there are folk songs and dances performed by troupes coming from Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat and other nearby states and places.
Along with these cultural activities water sports also form part of the festivities. Rowing competitions are held on the lake. The grand finale of the festival is made brighter by a display of dazzling fireworks on three days.
A bonanza of fun, frolic and festivity, is what sums up the Mount Abu winter fest.
The inaugural day will begin with marches by various performing groups from all over the country. Soon after the signing off of the march at Love Lake Nakki, there will be a scurry of activities with various competitions, games events throughout the day to culminate every day at Aravali manch, where on the night of December 31 there will be a rocking mega night from 8pm to midnight.
