With utmost comfort and luxury travel India and see its majestic beauty in Maharaja Express. Maharaja Express also named among the 2011 world's top 25 trains by the Society of International Railway Travelers and also acclaimed for its onboard accommodation and dining facilities, service, and excursion programs.

History of Maharaja Express

Maharaja Express was started in March under the joint venture of Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC) and Cox and Kings India Ltd by a name of the company called Royale Indian Rail Tours Ltd. (RIRTL).

Later in 12 August 2011, joint venture was terminated and now it is operated solely by IRCTC.

Maharaja Express Coaches

Maharaja Express has 23 carriages, 14 for guests accomodation which has 88 guest capacity. Coaches include deluxe cabins, suites, and a grand predential suite also.

Maharaja Express comprises total 5 deluxe cars, 6 Junior Suite Cars, 2 Suite Cars, 1 Presidential Suite car, 1 Bar car and 1 Lounge Car, 2 Restaurant cars, 1 Kitchen Car1 Staff Coach, 1 Executive Managers and Tour Managers Coach.
