Rajmandir Cinema the meringue-shaped auditorium is the outcome of the visionary thinking of Shri Mehtab Chandra Golcha, who wanted to develop a place for the cinema lovers, that was more than just a big screen hall. The construction of this masterpiece started with a marvelous architecture from a famous architect of that time Shri W.M. Namjoshi, When Shri Mohanlal Sukhadia (then Chief Minister of Rajasthan) laid its foundation stone in 1966. It took 10 years to complete the Raj Mandir, Jaipur.
The Raj Mandir, Jaipur, is like a Royal Palace built with utter style and elegance and operating since 1976. Whether it is the “Nine Stars” on the exterior of the Rajmandir or “Revolving panel” in the interior, the architecture and interiors of this single screen cinema are its X-factors. The grandeur and glamour that Raj Mandir was able to produce in those times, was the main reason why it is considered as the finest architecture in the history of cinema halls and also given the title “Pride of Asia”.
Once you reach Jaipur, you can easily find a number of private and shared cabs as well as private/Government buses that will drop you right in front of the Raj Mandir, Jaipur or you can also step down at Albert Hall Museum in Jaipur (Walking distance away from the Raj Mandir).
It is advisable to get your seat booked well in advance before the show. The reservation counters are open from 10am to 6pm.
