Alwar is a district of Rajasthan that used to be called as the princely state of Alwar. The city was founded by the king of Amer and ruled by the Kushwaha Rajputs for a long time. The city is one of the most attractive places of Rajasthan and known for its great tourist attractions. This is one of the primary Alwar activities one can go for. This is a fort which is popular in the entire Rajasthan and this fort is also called as the Alwar Fort. The fort stands high on the might Hills of the Aravalli Ranges and was built by the Jats and Nikumbh Rajputs in 10th century.

As the time went by the rulers changed in Alwar, Rajasthan and later it was managed by the Marathas, Yadavas, and to the Kushwaha Rajputs as per the reign. The fort was a great place for the wars as it has 446 openings for musketry and many Hindu scriptures are written on the walls.

The fort is maintained by the Archeological Survey of India and it has been instructed by them that no tourist should stay in this fort after sunset to save from any kind of paranormal activities.

Take a Visit to the Siliserh Lake and Palace

This Siliserh Lake and the palace are true to the word ‘beauty and the people who come here to see the palace get mesmerized to see the view of it. The palace is built on the banks of the Siliserh Lake which is an artificial lake that was made by King Vinay Singh in the year 1845 and it was built to improve water resource in Alwar, India by the king. And the palace was built for his beloved wife.

The lake is known for its gorgeous backdrop which is a combination of sparkling waters with greenery and the surrounding views of the Aravalli Hills gives this place a stunning impact and the tourists can have a nice boating time in the lake.

The City Palace of Alwar which is also known with the second name of Vinay Vilas Mahal was built by Raja Bakhtawar Singh in the year 1793 A.D. The palace is a stunning example of Rajasthani and Mughal styled architecture and it has elegant pavilions made of marble set on lotus flower bases in the central yard.

The palace used to be the residence of the Maharajas and it houses an attractive museum in Alwar, where one can see things, many ancient things. There is also a treasury found in the palace and many other beautiful gates such as Jai Pol, Laxman Pol, Andheri Gate Suraj Pol and Chand Pol.
