Rajasthan State Archives is most famous museum of Bikaner. It is located in the Bikaner city. This archives is well known for having some very precious administrative record of Mughal period which includes Persian Farmans, Nishans, Manshurs, Akbarat, Vakil Report, Arzdasht, Khatoot.
Rajasthan State Archives also has the record created during Princely states administration of Rajasthan like Bahia, Pattas, Parwanas, Rukkas, Chithiat, etc. Due to this unique and precious collection of records, many researchers from all over the world attracted to it.
All the necessary facilities are provided to visiting researchers. These facilities include microfilming, reference library and research rooms. Apart from researchers’ interest, Rajasthan State Archives also take care of tourist by exhibiting important documents.
In Oral History Project, Rajasthan State Archives Bikaner has recorded the reminiscences of 246 freedom fighters of state. Voices of these freedom fighters have been preserved in the form of CD’s as well as hard disc.
Among them, a short description of 212 freedom fighters with their laminated snaps are beautifully displayed in this gallery. This gallery was opened for the public in 2010. Interestingly this is the first pictorial freedom fighter gallery of Rajasthan.
Archival Gallery of the Department is depicting the treasure of Archives. where one can know about the Archives in a complete manner. A scanned copy of a rear collection of Farman’s, Mansur and Nishan’s written to Rajput rulers has displayed in this gallery.
Different kinds of documents such as Toji, Vakil report, Bahi, Missle and Departmental publication are witnessing the glory of the Archival Gallery.
