Laapsi is a kind of sweet specially found in Rajasthan. It is made of broken wheats ghee along with nuts raisins and dry fruits. This sweet is traditionally served during Dussehra. The addition of nuts, dry fruits and khoya make it a delicious dish.

Ingredients Required For Laapsi

Broken Wheat( Daliya ) 1 cups
Powdered Jaggery 1 cup
Dry Fruits (broken Almonds, cashews) 1/4 tsp
Ghee 4 tbsp
Green Cardamom Powder 1/2 tsp

How To Make Laapsi

  • Heat 2 tbsp of ghee in a pan and fry the daliya until the color of daliya turns to light golden. It takes around 10 minutes on low flames.
  • Pressure cook daliya for 3 whistles with 3 cups of water. Open the pressure cooker when there is no steam left.
  • Burn the excess water if any in the cooker.
  • Add powdered jaggery and cardamom powder to it and mix well.
  • Shallow fry the dry fruits and mix in the daliya.
  • Add rest of the ghee and mix well.

Laapsi is ready. Serve it hot.
