The Department of Treasuries & Accounts (DTA) is the financial and technical controller of all the treasuries within the state of Rajasthan. The department functions under the direct administrative control of the Finance Department of the state government of Rajasthan. DTA is responsible for functioning of all treasuries including pension, sub-treasuries and for providing monthly revenue and expenditure details to the Finance Department and the compiled accounts of the state government to the Accountant General (AG) office.
The Directorate of Treasuries & Accounts (DTA), setup in the year 1960, is the financial and technical controller of all the district treasuries of Rajasthan state. It is the responsibility of DTA to provide department wise monthly revenue and expenditure details received from the treasuries to Finance Department of Government of Rajasthan. The Director, Treasuries and Accounts is responsible for giving guidance to the Treasury officers on technical matters and ensuring implicit obedience by the Treasury Officers to the Treasury Rules particularly with regard to receipt, custody and withdrawal of funds from treasury, compilation of accounts and their rendition to the Accountant General.

Headquarter of DTA office is in Jaipur. Presently total 38 treasuries are functioning in Rajasthan and one at New Delhi, out of which 32 are district treasuries, located at district headquarters, and 6 are special treasuries. Under these treasuries total 221 sub-treasuries are in function. Independent treasuries are functioning at Tehsil level. Independent sub treasuries can pass bills of the offices under their jurisdiction. Bills of the offices under the jurisdiction of Tehsil level sub treasuries are passed by the respective treasury or independent sub treasury.Out of 10 pension sub treasuries, 9 are at district headquartes and one is functioning as OldAge Pension sub treasury in Jaipur. Pension Sub treasuries are for distribution of pension only.
