Jaisalmer District is a district of Rajasthan state in western India. The city of Jaisalmer is the administrative headquarters of the district.Jaisalmer, the 'Golden City', epitomises the charm of a sandy desert, along with the royal palaces and fighting camels of Rajasthan. It is the largest district of Rajasthan and third largest in the country in area. Jaisalmer district have three sub-divisions and also tehsils: Jaisalmer, Pokaran and Fatehgarh.

Jaisalmer is studded with magnificent tourist haunts that encapsulates the vivacious culture of this lovely locale. It has beautiful forts, sacred shrines, stately havelis reminiscent of the yester years, rippling lake, well stacked museums.
